Summary: Daichi is your best friend who has no luck with women. He often goes drinking with you and to ask for advice, but during one of your drinking sessions, you guys have a one-night stand and things start to change from then onwards.

3 years ago, when I thought about marriage, my girlfriend dumped me. “You are too serious, it’s boring.” those were her parting words. What left of me was my boring job. So, I became focused on my work, thinking that it would cure my loneliness. For three years I worked desperately, and I ended up turning to alcohol. In the end, nothing changed and I was still too serious and boring.
Even though I was an available(?) young man, I had only friends who I’d go drinking with, and no dates or significant other. I thought I had to change, so what I did was, I braced myself & visited stylish Tachinomiya’s*. With the help of alcohol, people became acquaintance with different kinds of people. In my opinion, whether we were older, same age. it was foolish. [it doesn’t matter]
Everyone talked like old friends and they shared concerns or thoughts, and also introduced each other to other people.
(* tachinomiya is a type of no-seat/standing bar that offers quick & cheap drinks/food, usually for workers.)
But, no matter how things have changed, I still didn’t get close to any woman, hence my love life hasn’t improved. I was beleaguered, I stopped going.[to the bar]. A savior appeared; a female friend whom I can consult anything to. It was the first time in my life. A really, really important female friend.

It’s already morning and there are sounds of birds chirping. His phone rings and startles him awake. He quickly figures out it’s the alarm and muses that it’s bad if he doesn’t turn it off quickly because you’re sleeping very soundly. He remembers that he left his phone on the clothes, and then he turns it off and sighs in relief.

“So that settles it…”
You wake up, though. He greets you good morning somewhat awkwardly. He apologizes for waking you up and says he forgot to turn off his alarm.
“It’s half past six, sorry, it’s really early.”
“Nah, because today is Saturday.”
“Yeah, that’s right!…”
He then asks whether you’re thirsty and what you want to drink; and after that he brings you some water.
“Yesterday I fell asleep… Oh, yeah, if it’s okay, do you want to bathe? Umm, are you not hungry? After taking a shower, want to buy someth—”
“Oh, is that so? Haha… Normal shower wouldn’t cut it? Ahah… I see… Send
you off?… Alright…”
Track 3
You’re meeting him at a drinking bar. He apologizes to you and says this looks different than usual, so he’s sorry if you had difficulties finding the location. He blurts out that along the time[while he waited], he was thinking lots and lots, but he corrects himself and says it’s nothing.
He hands you the menu and says that you guy haven’t drank together just the 2 of you for a while now.

“Hm, although it’s a little far, it’s fine to change from the usual place once in a while, right?”
You guys made your order & he notes that your orders are the same as what you usually order even though you’re visiting a different place.

“Should we do a toast? Ah, but I’ve drank more than half of mine, haha… Well…cheers!”
“Ah…somehow my throat feels dry.”
“Mm, that’s right.”
He starts to stutter, and then he nervously asks whether you’ve heard of the new cafe near the tachinomiya. He talks about the boss of the cafe saying that business is difficult (?) and he seems to imply that you guys should go there to support the cafe some time later. You refuse, and he apologizes, seeming disappointed.
“Ah, as I thought, you don’t want to, huh…”
“No, because…that’s because..”
“Should we eat the food before it goes cold?”
He starts eating but he burns his tongue; he quickly gulps water and nervously says it’s hot so be careful.

“The rain doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop, right?”
“Sorry, maybe it’d be better if we visited the usual place… There’s also a convenience store nearby, so we could buy an umbrella.”
“Ah! The last train has ended.”
“If it continues like this, maybe we should get some help? In that case, let’s just go to a karaoke or somewhere [to take shelter], there should be some of these places around here– oh. There are so many love hotels in this area… I didn’t notice this before. A phone vibrates and he wonders if it’s his. He mutters, “She hasn’t come out yet…” likely assuming that it’s safe to take the call.
“Hello? Waited last week? … I was drinking… No, I didn’t do anything!… Don’t say I did… Even if you tell me that far, I don’t know.”(?)
“I was also drunk, so it was awkward. I was wondering whether this was a problem.”(?)
“Don’t say ‘what a practical relationship’ like a joke!…. Stop saying strange things! I don’t take our relationship so lightly!”
“No, indeed, that was a fact that should be considered, but…she’s important.. She’s precious to me.”

He says something along the lines of a guy like him bringing you home will make him seem not trustworthy (?), after all, you said before that he was a big no-no. Thus, he’ll surely get rejected. Anyway, he gave this issue some thought already, so he’s trying to shake the caller’s inquisitive behavior away.
You come out of the shower & he hangs up. He sighs and mutters this will be a hit or miss, and it will be terrible if he doesn’t handle it properly.

You guys are meeting after a while; he greets you normally, asking whether you want a drink. You ask for the usual thing you always order. You ask about his drink and he says it’s oolong tea, and that he’s not drinking now. He discloses that he wants to talk while being sober. Soon your order comes; he says thank you for meeting him today.
“The thing that happened before made things weird… I didn’t make a request (presumably request to meetup) because I was scared.”
“No way!”
“Sorry I took a long time to contact you.”
“While I was thinking this and that, 2 weeks passed unexpectedly.”
“Well… Will it mean less if I tell you my own feelings? (T/N: I don’t really understand what he’s saying, gomen!!!)
“Will you listen to my story?”

“Umm, hey… This is yet another terrible complaining that you’ve probably already sick of hearing… 3 years ago I was dumped by my girlfriend after thought of marriage, and ever since, I’ve been putting all my effort in my job. See, by busying myself with work, there’d be no time to grieve. After spending such a long time being miserable, the pain has clogged up. Like recently, “aa~ i did that too…”, and “how nostalgic~”, I have a lot of those thoughts.“

After this I can’t catch what he’s saying, but it’s something about him worrying about overworking (?)

Track 10
The track starts with you washing the dishes.
“With this, it’s done.”
He asks whether you want to divide the dishwashing chores (?). He thanks you, saying the meal was extremely delicious. You say he’s exaggerating, but he denies it and says that it’s really delicious. He compares you to his acquaintances from the tachinomiya and says they’re way below your level. He admits that if he hadn’t gone to tachinomiya, he wouldn’t have met you, and that he didn’t expect things to turn out in his favor, so he’s happy.
He says from now on he will stop going to bars because he already has you. Since he has found someone important to him, there’s no need to go to such bars anymore. Suddenly he remembers that he hasn’t heard you say you like him. Back then, when he confessed to you, you did not clearly say you like him. He whispers that he wants to hear it.

I kinda fell in love with this guy lmao (The part after the one-night stand before he confessed properly was so awkward, I felt like hugging him and patting his back! Poor baby.) I hope you enjoyed it!
